Suggestions to start from, not rules. Home education in England has no set hours; what matters is that it is full-time and suits each child. Both keep English and maths in the morning, when attention is best, and leave afternoons for projects and being outside.
Well-known places families use. Free ones first.
Parents can choose to educate their children at home. You don't have to follow the national curriculum, but the education must be efficient, full-time and suitable for the child's age, ability and any special needs.
If your child is registered at a school, write to the head teacher to say you're taking them out to home educate. The school tells the council, and the council may ask how you're educating them. A special school needs the council's agreement first.
Before deciding, read the official guidance and talk to your council: gov.uk/home-education.

The spelling lists are the statutory word lists for Years 3–4 and Years 5–6.
